Gaa Results.ie Launch Day

GAA clubs everywhere could earn thousands of euro each as a result of a new website, gaaresults.ie

The site will feature game results and match reports instantaneously uploaded after games by participating clubs across the country. Club members may also get results from gaaresults.ie instantly sent to their mobile phones for just 30 cent per score.

There is no annual subscription fee to join, just the flat 30 cent fee for each text received

Forty per cent of the revenues from the texting service of gaaresults.ie will go straight back into the clubs, which means any one of the approximately 2,400 GAA clubs that choose to participate could earn an average of €5,000 or more, depending on service takeup from their members.

The site’s founders Micheal Lyng and Mick Hannon believe that clubs across the country and the globe could share in time in a potential bonanza of between E10 million and E15 million per annum as a result.

GAA legend Mick O’Dwyer was on hand to help launch gaaresults.ie at the Skylon Hotel in Dublin on Wednesday. The site has also been welcomed by former Dublin star Dessie Farrell, who said: “I believe that this is a tremendous opportunity for GAA clubs throughout the world to generate much needed revenue, also giving everyone the opportunity to be kept informed and in touch … a great idea.”

Site founder Michael Hannon pointed out that “gaaresults.ie is primarily a Web site that happens to have a feature that allows us to send text messages of results to fans. But it will have forums for each county, competitions and online games as well, so it’s really an online community for GAA fans from Macroom to Melbourne.”

Co Founder Micheal Lyng explained : “Each club will upload its own results, game reports and even photos to gaaresults.ie, which in turn will automatically send these results out to subscribers from that club. In addition, subscribers to gaaresults.ie can tailor their subscriptions so that they only receive results from certain sports and teams.”
